Summer Full Week Theme Camps

Theme camps allow students to focus on a particular area of interest. As part of a theme camp, you will spend a week immersed in the study, practice, and exploration of your chosen topic. During this time you will work with a highly trained instructor and have access to cutting-edge technology.

Campers need to have completed 6th- 9th grade for Bake Up Artists, Savory Delights, and Cosmetology to attend those camps. 

Engineering, Women in Engineering, and Construction camps take students who have completed 7th- 9th grade. Camp offerings change each year and have limited space.

Each camp is $120 and includes lunch. Please note that drop off and pick up will be behind RHS near the cafeteria.

 

July 8 to 12, 2024 Bake Up Artists! 9:00 to 2:30

Students will learn about pastry techniques, piping, batters, and dough and enjoy showcasing their work for other campers. Not only will campers embrace the sugar rush of the pastry realm, but each will be challenged with a task that will put their artistic baking creativity to the test every day.  Campers will be expected to be active participants in food prep as well as clean up; closed-toe shoes, clean fingernails with no polish, and long hair pulled back are a must. Must have completed 6th, 7th 8th or 9th grade.

July 8 to 12, 2024 Cosmetology 9:00 to 2:30

Hey there, future stylists! This camp is full of exciting chances for budding cosmetologists like you. This week, we’re diving into all things cosmetology. From running a salon to understanding haircuts and even learning about nails, we’ve got it covered. Get ready to discover how you can make your dreams of becoming a stylist come true right here at Stafford. Plus, we’ll have some cool hands-on activities and fun games to make learning about cosmetology a blast! Must have completed 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th grade.

July 8- 12, 2024 Engineering for the Future 9:00 to 2:30 This week-long camp will expose campers to the different methods and materials used in engineering, focusing on computer aided design, advanced manufacturing techniques, and automation and programming. This camp is for students who have completed 7th, 8th, or 9th grade.

July  15- 19, 2024 Women In Engineering 9:00 to 2:30 This camp introduces campers to the many aspects of engineering, design thinking, and real-world problem-solving and will feature guest engineers to highlight the opportunities for women in engineering. Projects will focus on computer-aided design, advanced manufacturing techniques, and automation and programming.   This camp is open to female-identifying students, non binary students, and students comfortable in a female-focused space. Must have completed 7th, 8th or 9th grade grade.

July 15 to 19, 2024 Digital Arts Summer Camp 9:00 to 2:30

If you love art and computers this is the camp for you! Campers will be taking photographs, creating digital drawings, making animations, and point-and-click video games. Come explore your creative side while using Stafford’s state-of-the-art tools. Must have completed 6th, 7th 8th, 9th grade.

July 15 – 19, 2024 Construction Camp 9:00 to 2:30

The Stafford Technical Center Construction Tech Program is offering a summer program that integrates safety instruction, visits to job sites, working on hands-on projects, and an introduction to many of the aspects involved in the construction industry. Students are provided with safety equipment and tools as part of an overview of the fast-paced world of the construction industry. Students will have the opportunity to learn about and work with hand tools and assist teachers with some power tools. Students will be required to wear long pants and appropriate footwear (work type boots/hikers, no canvas sneakers, no sandals). July 22- 26, 2024 Savory Delights Culinary 9:00 to 2:30 Students will learn how to make savory foods including appetizers and entrees by having an introduction to different products, cooking methods, and techniques. At the end of the week, each student will work together to prepare a showcase of foods as a buffet to share amongst campers and families on a first come first served basis. Must have completed 6th, 7th 8th, 9th grade.
