Cosmetology

The Cosmetology program will prepare students for a successful career in the cosmetology industry and/or employment in the technical field of cosmetology with basic entry-level skills. Students enroll in the program for two academic years. During this concentrated instruction students receive training in theoretical and practical skills, as well as all phases of hair, skin, and nail care with a particular focus on microbiology, infection control, life science, and business. Students must complete 1000 clock hours of applied effort as set forth by the State Board of cosmetology, in addition to complying with the educational standards of the Vermont Agency of Education. Successful students in this program must have excellent interpersonal communication skills and practice professionalism in all interactions.

Gabby Vest, Class of 2012

Stafford honestly changed my life. I was really unhappy at my sending school. I got good grades but lacked a passion for anything. At Stafford I found my passion. People go their entire life never finding theirs and I’m thankful everyday that I found mine.
