The Construction Technology Program offers a future with great rewards. The program provides skills in light residential construction. Students learn safe and accurate use of hand and power tools and knowledge of building materials. Program students build with panelization and production methods used in an ever-changing environment and industry. Practical experience from the foundation up to the finish takes place on and off campus at the residential project where students are building real homes.
What We Do
Students participate in field trips to industry leaders in Vermont. Many service projects have been completed to help local groups including, the United Way, the Home Builders. Students work on a complete house build from foundation to finish.
Program Instructor
Tyler Gugliotta
At 14 Tyler Gugliotta began working summers in construction as a laborer demolishing and cleaning up very large busy residential houses in the New York City suburb communities. He worked hard to become a carpenter by 16 doing work that he is still proud of 26 years later!
Since then, Tyler has studied engineering, worked as a draftsman, had the opportunity to lead crews, own a business, and build a great reputation as a highly-skilled carpenter in the Killington mountain area. Tyler moved to Vermont in 2003 to teach snowboarding and has made an exceptional seasonal career out of that ever since.
“I am married to my wife Soojeong, taught English in Korea, and speak Korean. I believe that the quality of what you do is remembered, not the time you took to accomplish something. I believe you make your deal, do your very best, and karma rewards. As a teacher, I couldn’t be more excited to use my craft and experience to help students obtain skills and confidence to prepare them for a healthy, successful life.”

Jeff Fowler, Class of 1976
I attended the cabinet-making program at Stafford. Being proud of your work was something that was instilled in me; along with that came the opportunity for earning a good living. Now, as an instructor at Stafford in the Construction program, I strive to pass on that same pride to the students that come here.
