CDL Driver Training Program Receives Partnership Award

casellaSenior management from Casella Waste Systems, Inc. met with administrators, students, and teaching staff from the Stafford Driver Training School and the Diesel Mechanic Apprenticeship program to hear the good news about both trucking programs. Six students successfully earned their Commercial Drivers Licenses earlier in the year, and eight students will be testing for their ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Master Mechanics License later this fall. These achievements mark the third year that students have been given the opportunity to attend training programs that are completely underwritten by Casella Waste Systems through an agreement with Stafford Technical Center. To thank this generous business partner in a more formal way, William Lucci, Assistant Director of Adult Technical Education at Stafford Technical Center presented Gary Simmons, Vice President of Fleet Management for CWS with the Stafford School and Community Partnership Award “for its generous corporate, personal and financial support of career and technical education for students of the Rutland Region through Stafford Technical Center.”
