(RUTLAND, VT) The City of Rutland Department of Public Works is asking drivers to slow down and use extra caution while driving in the city.
Due to a national shortage of salt their order was back-ordered and now the city is running dangerously low. Until they receive the back-ordered salt the city will be limiting road salting to hills and major intersections.
Most roads will continue to be snow covered, even after plowing and the city says that roads could remain slippery for several days. Please slow down and use extra caution while driving.
