Gwen Hagenbarth joined Stafford in July of 2024. Gwen has returned to the Rutland City Public Schools for the third time, after serving as an Assistant Principal at Fair Haven Union Middle and High School. She has served as a Mathematics teacher for seven years at Rutland High School, fifteen years at Woodstock Union High School with nine of those years as a Dean of Students, and a year each at Whitcomb High School and Lebanon High School. Gwen’s career in the field of education also includes eleven years teaching middle school and a couple of years teaching elementary school. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Baccalaureate in Secondary Mathematics from Rowan University, and a Master of Science in Educational Administration from the University of Scranton. In addition, Gwen comes to us with years of retail industry experience, mostly from growing up working in her family’s floral shop; but, also from working in ski shops, and clothing shops. She has even tried her hand in the Food Service Industry as a waitress/hostess.
Gwen moved to Killington, Vermont from NJ, over 30 years ago with her husband, daughter, son, and the family dog to give it a try. Two married college graduates and four dogs later, it has worked for Gwen as she is still enjoying everything small-town Vermont offers including skiing, hiking, camping, and kayaking. Now, she especially cherishes her role as a Nonna.
